Is it like Thin Client?
No. A Thin Client setup would turn all your PCs into Dumb Terminals, wasting their local computing power. VHD system uses distributed computing of so end users get a full PC experience. A Thin Client system also runs all operations centrally - requiring a huge central Server. However VHD use distributed computing - your OS and Applications run locally, so our server can be as little as a standard Pentium IV, 3.0 GHz workstation.
What is the Bandwidth Requirement?
The Bandwidth Requirements depends on the number of client computers and their usage. To give you and example, on a 100Mps network we can run 40 client computers. We can simultaneously boot all 40 client computers (running Windows XP) in under 2 minutes.
Can it be used on over a WAN?
Yes. Our VHD system can uniquely router-cross to centralize the provisiong across several different LANs. The VHD system is designed for LANs, so if you want to run it over a WAN we recommend a high network speed of at least 5 MB/s.
Can the clients run Multimedia applications?
Yes. VHD system uses local computing; therefore Multimedia applications do not overload the server, not the network.
Can you disable USB access?
Yes - please email sales@vhdsoft.com.cn if you require this feature.
How do you ensure security?
Data storage is centralized and can be saved to any location the customer requires. Backups and virus protection can be done in one place.
Is it a suitable replacement for Citrix?
Yes. The VHD system is a more powerful, cheaper and more friendly alternative to Citrix products.

How easy is it for the end user?
The interface is simple and easy to use, yet very powerful. Most operations are simple drag-and-drop, copy-and-paste and single clicks to setup the system.
Do I just need one Windows license?
No unfortunately not - you still need a license for each client computer. The Windows licensing will be the same as traditional setups. Microsoft's licensing says you need a Windows license for each user by counting the number of computer processors. We do however support Linux both server-side and client side.
